Easter Dresses (and a Suit)

I LOVE Easter! Probably more than Christmas, actually. I love how we as a family do better at Easter time about remembering and celebrating Jesus Christ and not worrying about presents and hustle and bustle. We don't really do the Easter bunny (just buy the peeps etc to enjoy as a family) and so it's just talking about the life, ministry, sacrifice and resurrection of our Savior. Sort of last minute, I was able to teach my Laurels the Easter lesson as well. Easter brings such a spirit of gratitude, appreciation, and a new desire to do better, be better, strive to live as Christ would have us live. As President Hinckley said (I love this quote):
"Whenever the cold hand of death strikes, there shines through the gloom and the darkness of that hour the triumphant figure of the Lord Jesus Christ, He, the Son of God, who by his matchless and eternal power overcame death. He is the Redeemer of the world. He gave His life for each of us. He took it up again and became the firstfruits of them that slept. He, as King of Kings, stands triumphant above all other kings. He, as the Omnipotent One, stands above all rulers. He is our comfort, our only true comfort, when the dark shroud of earthly night closes about us as the spirit departs the human form. Towering above all mankind stands Jesus the Christ, the King of glory, the unblemished Messiah, the Lord Emmanuel. In the hour of deepest sorrow we draw hope and peace and certitude from the words of the angel that Easter morning, 'He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.' He is our King, our Lord, our Master, the living Christ, who stands on the right hand of His Father. He lives! He lives, resplendent and wonderful, the living Son of the living God."
One of the things I do like to do for Easter is have new (or at least new to us) clothes for my kids. I love the fact that it symbolizes newness - the bright spring colors after a dark winter, fresh and clean and alive, just as Christ rose on the third day. Here's our Easter children (and their cousins)! Oh, and please excuse Sim - he was very sick on Easter - he had a bad rash and I think an allergic reaction to some new soap I used on him...

Happy late Easter!
