On a Lighter Note...

We are not immune. During the last year, some of the Bubbs' and Simster's friends decided it would be fun to cut their hair. Or their sibling's hair. Or some of each. Up until yesterday, my kids had always followed my fantabulous rule - "Scissors are just for paper" So... yesterday I came home after a Relief Society activity and helped DH finish putting the kids to bed. I came back downstairs and started to clean up the kitchen. And there were locks of hair on the ground by the table. There wasn't much. In fact, I almost thought DH had decided PJ needed another little bangs trim and trimmed her right there with the kids' safety scissors. He insisted he didn't, so I went upstairs to have a chat with the Bubbs. Me: Bubbs, did someone cut their hair tonight? Did Simster cut your hair? Did you cut your hair? Did someone cut PJ's hair? Bubbs: Ummm... no.... Me: Well, I know somebody used the scissors to cut hair tonight. There's hair...

Humbly Overwhelmed - New Calling

So for those of you not of my faith, I wanted to preface this - but I wasn't exactly sure how to explain it. Then I remembered that my sis did a great job when she posted about her calling... so I am stealing the words from her: "A calling is like a 'job' at church. All teachers and leaders in our local congregations are non-paid volunteers. We are asked to perform a certain job by the leader of our congregation. We have the option to accept or decline. If we accept, we are then presented to the entire congregation for a sustaining vote. No position is sought after or campaigned for, but most choose to accept, no matter how difficult the 'job' might be." So a week ago I met with the Bishop of our ward (leader of our congregation) and he asked if I would accept a calling as the Young Women President of our ward. MIA Again

I'm not following my posting goals. Not because I don't want to... I spent 2 hours in urgent care this morning, was sent to the hospital and was in the ER for 5 hours because they were worried about meningitis. Good News: The spinal tap was normal! No meningitis. And I'm home tonight. And they gave me narcotics. :) Bad News: They hope it's just a bad virus, but if it doesn't improve dramatically within 24 hours, they will probably ask me to come back in for a CAT scan. And if there's something wrong there, I won't be making my Utah trip on Friday :( Also, I have a friend going in for a C-section tomorrow and I was supposed to watch her daughter and now I can't do it and I feel like a flake.
